That includes the streets, sewers, lamp posts, etc. The city/county doesn't have to pay for or maintain any of that infrastructure. That means developers have to pay less in impact fees and not have to deal with the municipality as much for building the streets/sewers/etc. Of course, this is highly dependent on how things are run in a particular area. It was asking the question, should English departments be cut / de-prioritized / receive less funding in favor of putting more money towards engineering.

You are correct. An autopilot system that works correctly 99% of the time is going to be almost impossible to use. For me, having to sit and pay attention in a car that is driving itself would be an almost impossible task. My mind would wander or I would just fall asleep. I would absolutely love to have a car that drove itself - but not one that almost drives itself.
