It's hilarious that you say "If you're going to reply to this post, please read it first!" but it's clear you didn't read the article.

Knuth never says that he doesn't see ANY value in unit tests, and also doesn't go beyond his own reasons for unit tests. He also admits that parallel code can be useful for several applications.

And so he prefers "re-editable code" to code reuse. So what?

President Defends Global Outsourcing 1075

mytrip wrote to mention a New York Times article discussing President Bush's trip to the Indian subcontinent. There, he urged Americans to welcome global competition for their jobs. From the article: "Mr. Bush, reiterating a theme of his trip, strongly defended the outsourcing of American jobs to India as the reality of a global economy, and said that the United States should instead focus on India as a vital new market for American goods ... 'The classic opportunity for our American farmers and entrepreneurs and small businesses to understand is there is a 300 million-person market of middle class citizens here in India, and that if we can make a product they want, that it becomes viable,'"

The US has fairly small plugs for most 110V things. 220V items (clothes dryers come to mind) use very large plugs, though.

What is annoying is the transformer-plug combos. I can deal with an in-line transformer, but when the transformer is the size of my foot AND is also the plug that I am supposed to plug into a full powerstrip it sucks.
