A single brave person standing in front of a Chinese armored column is the quintessential image of Tiananmen Square for everyone outside outside of China.

The question is why it won't criticise the countries where its funding originated? On second thought, that would be a terrible idea before going public.

I bet it will give you the brutal truth if you ask it 'What happened at My Lai?'

But that's not being argued here. What's being argued here is that materials that are recyclable, and marked as such, aren't being recycled -- for various reasons, none of which should matter to the manufacturer/distributor.
For example, if I sell you a beverage in an aluminium can, I can't stop you from thowing it in the trash even though it is marked as recyclable, and is one of the materials that is commonly recycled.
If a plastic container is marked as recyclable (because a process exists to recycle that type of plastic) is it the manufacturer's problem that the consumer can't recycle it because their locality can't or won't handle it?

The problem with your statement is that the materials are recyclable, but Californians (along with the rest of the country) aren't prepared to pay for it. If your gallon jug of milk was $20, you'd stop drinking milk. If you had to pay a recycling charge on the plastic bag in which your loaf of bread was packaged, it would cost $10.

I'm sure there are others.
