Journal trajano's Journal: Business Casual Is Dead ... My Ass 1

Yesterday in the subway I noticed this article on Metro (the Toronto Subway newspaper) about "Business Casual Is Dead"

One of the things that the article said was some American research company found that there was no productivity increase with people working in business casual clothing, in fact they found that productivity was less because "people wear the same clothes that they lounge in".

The article also says that companies are starting to go formal again.

My 2c on this:
I think that people should wear what they feel comfortable with and stop being so anal and force everyone to conform to their narrow minded views.

Suits are expensive, unless the employer is going to purchase it for me (not reimburse and I have to shop for it) then screw it. Where I work its business casual, but they still have strict rules, no jeans or running shoes. Of course I don't really follow the rules anyway, if you are going to be anal about it that's your problem, I feel comfortable with what I wear, and I get the job done.

If you don't want to see people working happily then that's your problem and/or your budget. Happy workers tend to get the job done faster and better.

Unless of course you get some slackers... and if you have the power to get rid of them use it. If you don't, you're a slacker and hopefully someone will get rid of you.
