The reason is pretty single:
Regen breaking relies on the magnetic field generated in the engine when it is used as a generator (slowing down)
The faster you go, the stronger this effect will be.

When you go slow enough the force is just too low to fully stop a car. A car is just too heavy for that.
The brakes only have to be applied below like 15KM/h though.

Though question 1:
Do you actually need the desktop version of Teams or is the web-version sufficient?
Because the web version works fine on Linux.

That might be something specific for Mint then.
I upgraded Ubuntu, Suse, Red Hat and Debian machines in place without any issues.

Personally I only use FDE on my Linux laptops, which will actually have to leave the house.
And the back-ups on the (offsite)site nas are encrypted.
Because well those are a lot easier to steal then a 6+KG desktop tower.

I bid on a job (as contractor) for air-side software on Schiphol International Airport.

And for the older PC's upgrading the OS in place is not an option like it was from 7/8 to 10.

Even if I wanted to use WIndows (I don't as a Linux user), Windows 11 would be a big no for one simple reason:
I work with sensitive data. On the level that the GDPR is only the tip of the iceberg,
Windows 11 with all it's build in spyware is NOT compatible with the data protection laws I'm under.

For those beamers: I think they can't actually handle full resolution at 50 fps ;) My laptop also has the habbit of crashing crap beamers while playing video.
I never had that problem while presenting sheets. Might be worth to look into if limiting the video playback would prevent crashes.

Secure boot does nothing to prevent putting the disk in another computer.
You need full-disk encryption to block that.
