Blankly blocking immigration is indeed a bad idea. But an population limit is not.
I'm from The Netherlands myself and this country is massive overcrowded (one of the most densely populated countries on the planet).

I don't know where you got your knowledge about EV's but it is plain wrong.
Yes EV's are a little heavier so they have some more tire wear, especially if you use bad tires on them.

BUT, EV's rarely use their physical brakes (they regen brake) and no emissions from a tailpipe.
They massive reduce the tiny particle emissions compared to an ICE, let alone compared to a diesel car.
And that is not even taking in account that an EV takes about 1/3 of the energy required to move compared to an ICE car.

I agree though that you yanks have a serious car addiction and really need to make better public transport and walk-able cities.

Believe me, maintaining the Docker-containers is way less of a hassle to try to keep VM's up to date across all dev-machines and test-servers.

Where do you get the idea that clouds and snowfall block solar panels? It reduces the output nothing more.
Sure if the panels are covered with like 10+ cm of snow they might not work, but besides that they will work fine.
Even now in late November my inverter starts up like 30 min after sunrise.

Make that 3 times as efficient, not 2 times ;)
And yes generating electricity with fossil fuels for BEV's is still way better then usings ICE's for 2 simple reasons:
1) A thermal power plant is way more efficient then a ICE (profit one)
2) A BEV is about 3 times more efficient energy-wise then an ICE (profit two)

Of course generating that power with clean sources would even be better.

Frankly if Microsoft made C# cross-platform from day 1 they could have "killed" Java. And that is coming from a person that dislikes that company.
What saved Java was that it is cross-platform and that Google used it as base language for Android.
I have no opinion on how good java is verses C#. I just dislike both companies, but with Java you can at least completely ignore Oracle and only use the openJDK.

My experience is that this is generally website related.
Especially front-end heavy websites are often very bad in releasing memory when they change the dom.
Eating more and more memory every time something changes.
