Today, I am fasting along with thousands of others around the world for the security, integrity, and blessings of the people and of the nation of Israel. (Sorry for the late notice about today's fast, but read on for the Fast of Esther next week.)

PUBLIC FAST DAY DECLARED TO SPIRITUALLY COMBAT EXPULSION PLAN
Two of Israel's leading rabbis, former Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi Avraham Shapira and former Chief Sephardi Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu, have declared a public fast to be held on March 17. The fast will take place from sunrise to sundown on the 6th day of the Jewish month of Adar II. The day is to be devoted to fasting and prayer in order to overturn the government's decision to expel Jews from their homes in Gaza and northern Samaria and turn the communities over to Israel's enemies.

Fast of Esther - Thursday, March 24

Next Thursday will be another day of fasting. The 13th of Adar (II) (March 24 this year) is the traditional Fast of Esther, which comes before the festival of Purim to commemorate the victory of the Jews over the wicked plans of Haman. (See the book of Esther in the Bible.)

If you support the Jewish state and do not wish it to be ripped to shreds either through the violence of its Islamist enemies or by the devastating "peace plans" promoted by its supposed allies who call for a contiguous 23rd Arab state, thereby breaking asunder the only single Jewish state, please join me in this worldwide campaign of prayer and fasting. During this fast, we are asking for God's favor and wisdom to turn the tide of two agendas dividing the Jews and Israel ...

1. Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's Disengagement/Compensation (Expulsion/Confiscation) Plan, which would uproot 25 Jewish communities and their thousands of citizens in northern Samaria and Gaza and surrender the land to a terrorist entity
2. the Saudi Arabia-conceived Road Map/Two-State Solution being pushed primarily by US President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair (in the Arab World, this is known as simply a temporary phase toward a One-State Solution: "Palestine" -- i.e., the Final Solution to the Jewish Problem)

I find myself reciting the words: "Do it again, Lord. Do it again." Where does that statement come from? I had to think about it. It's from Max Lucado's "A Prayer for America" which he wrote after 9/11. It is surprisingly and inspiringly appropriate for such a time as this.

Get a history book and read about the 6 Day War. Most of the disputed land is land that Israel won when all the Arab countries decided to eradicate them... the rest was the Hebrew's land all along. Why is it OK for the losers of that war to them complain about land they lost in that war? I'd think they'd be more upset that little Israel kicked all their asses in SIX DAYS.

Let's consider for a moment that I don't care what your religious text says, but I am willing, for the purpose of putting the issue to rest, to say that the land the Israeli's were given on May 14th, 1948, is legitimately there's by international agreement.

Can you, or can you not, justify the presence of Jewish settlers outside of that land to me?

The area that is now much of the middle east was until WWI part of the Turkish Ottoman empire. When that went away it got broken up. What is now Israel became a Brittish Mandate, which lasted until 1948. In 1947 the UN voted to partition the mandate into Jewish and Arab area. The Jews at the time accepted this plan (though did so knowing that the Arabs wound't). The Arabs declared war. The so called "Green Line" is simple the cease fire line of 1949 where the Isreali and Jordanian forces stopped fighting.

The key is that Israel is a democracy and must give citizenship and voting rights to everyone living within its boundaries. Because Israel does want all Palestinians voting in its elections, it have to give everyone excluded a separate state.
