The only feature I really miss after switching from intellij/webstorm to vscode is the 3-way merge view. Otherwise, for JS work, I don't see the point in going back to their ecosystem.

Yeah I agree. The road to hell is paved with good intentions - that end up mostly benefiting cronies and demagogues. Spending a few billion here or there doesn't solve that problem.

Glad us Australians can set a bad example for the US for a change. Our NBN was a political clusterfuck that cost way too much and stifles competition thanks to the monopoly laws needed to help keep it funded. Total pork barrelling.
