It is called modem compatibility. Your modem on your computer, and the modem you hook up to on the server. Also it depends on the amount of total bandwidth a server is provisioned for.
It isn't easy being the parent of a six-year-old. However, it's a pretty small price to pay for having somebody around the house who understands computers.
