I'll never make this (cause I just don't bake) - but whoever invented this is both brilliant and seriously dented in the head. Gotta respect that.

This site is a *really* cool kids & baking site (I'm thinking of you Bethanie) but this particular recipe has gross-out possibilities far beyond just kids. This is prime practical joke material, right here, you just have to check out the picture...

If you liked the cat, you'd hope it didn't eat any. Chocolate is toxic to cats.

Any "people food" is generally a bad idea for cats for a multitude of reasons. Chocolate or cocoa in particular contain natural diuretics that are usually harmless for humans, but can kill a cat even in small doses. [best-cat-art.com]

Unfortunately my MIL is notorious for feeding cats all kinds of crap, then wonders why they constantly get diarrhea, barf and so on. She used to do it to Cleo-Kitty, too, until I came down on her like a ton of bricks, but she still does it with my SIL's cats (SIL still lives with her parents).

Greater realism can be achieved through the addition of Grape Nuts to the "litter", and by taping an opened smelling salt (or an ammonia soaked cotton ball) under the rim of the pan. I've also seen gingerbread dough used to make the droppings.

definitely nifty someone with a cat and a camera should make this cake, see how the cat/ their family reacts, and submit it to current tv ;)

I have a recipe

for something similar. It's called "dirt cake" and is made in a flower pot, served with a "kitchen only" trowel and has plastic flowers stuck in it. It comes complete with gummy worms.

If anyone is interested I could locate and post the recipe.
