I'm excited.

I'm going to a baseball game tomorrow. Can't wait.

Does anyone know - as a Canadian in the US, am I allowed to donate blood while I'm here?

I'm sitting in my hotel room, surfing and sipping Baileys, procrastinating like you would NOT believe, even though I enjoy the stuff I'm avoiding. Does not compute.

I have always considered "Muddy Waters" by Johnny Cash to be a haunting song... more so now. I've heard gossip that certain songs have been banned from the airwaves, among them the tragically hip song "New Orleans is Sinking". Is that true? I'm not sure if the Johnny Cash song is one of them. It shouldn't be. If you haven't heard it, you should look it up. It is simple, but devastating. And old, yet suddenly, horribly meaningful.

TL - if you mean this, you better choose your girls very carefully: "When I feel like a girl is doing everything she's doing to make OUR life better, not just HER life better, that's when I feel loved."

good to hear you're feeling good, as far as blood donations go, i dont' think it's against any laws, but then again i've never given blood. i've only sold it, complete with drug profiles, for fun and profit.

Well, I never do nothing.... ever. I'm one of those annoying always-busy people.

I'm just very good at not doing the one thing I should be doing. If I were at home, I'd be cleaning the house. It is very strange.

And what are you avoiding this fine evening? Anything in particular?

What do you mean by "ban?" I can see that most stations would probably decide not to play those songs, but it's not a nationwide regulation or something.

Actually, Bushmills just started making irish cream. So good... it is harder to find mickeys of anything except baileys though. And as dedicated as I am to alcohol, I'm pretty sure that I couldn't get through a regular-sized bottle on my own (-:

We made homemade eggnog one year at the cabin - that was a big mistake. We made it 'round four -- never got to the dinner part. Not only were we drunk, we were very very full...

it has rules about countries you can/can not have visited. i didn't see canada there. perhaps they have a number you can call.

You don't have to be a US citizen. However, you should probably just ask one of the people at a blood drive. I became eligible to give last year for the first time in my adult life, but the next time I tried to give, they'd introduced new rules that prohibited me from doing so (I'd lived in one of several European countries from 1980-1996 and there was a miniscule risk that I'd been exposed to CJD [Mad Cow disease]). So until they decide that I haven't been incubating Mad Cow for the last twenty years, I am
