Two years ago I bought a caddy first time. I knew it had hotspot capability but I wasn't really hot about it because all my devices got connection already. During long trips kid ipads can just tether off adult phones. To my total surprise, the 4G hotspot works without me paying the subscription. I don't know if the dealer forgot to cancel it or it in fact works without subscription. I can't imagine what kind of data it sends home, but I imagine telemetry and location.

Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers did not accept the trophy as evidence

If this happened in a meeting with 50-60 people and Musk called someone a jackass, I'm sure at least a dozen people remember that and they can be witness. Why the hell was OpenAI stupid enough to use an unrelated object to present as evidence? If the guy's wife banged him hard that night for standing up to Musk, are we gonna see their sex tape too? What a fucking stupid thing to do.

Not that I praise robots replacing human jobs. But I've seen countless times luggage handling employees literally abuse luggage. I even saw a dude slamming the luggage, then followed with a kick for good measure. Dunno if he just had a bad day or he indeed hated his job.

A federal judge agreed that the search violated Chatrie's rights, but allowed the evidence to be used because the officer who applied for the warrant reasonably believed he was acting properly

This is a pathetic interpretation of the Constitution. What the officer believes is irrelevant! It's what he knows that count. Don't get me wrong guys, they got the right guy and he confessed. He earned his sentence. But back to the truth; at the time of filing the application for the surveillance, the cop DID NOT know anything and he didn't have the authority NOR the qualification to "believe" that he was acting properly, when it comes to constitutional rights. The judge should issue the ruling based on facts and laws, not on the cop's belief that he was right.

EV is definitely something I want, but they ain't the same budget. I can buy a Camry/Sienna or Accord/Odyssey for less than a Model3/Y or Lyriq/EscaladeIQ. I absolutely love the convenience of waking up to a "full tank" everyday. When Tesla began selling Model-S I told myself the price will be normalized in 5 years. But today it's still not and I think that's because Tesla is not facing fierceful enough competition.

A few companies out there like Rivian, Lucid who make pure EV but they are similarly priced, even more expensive. Long time players like Ford, GM, Hyundai are not making enough vehicles to be competitive. Ford/GM pulled the plug on their production multiple times for various reasons. Without enough competition, there's no reason for Tesla/Rivian/Lucid to lower their price further. So now more than a decade since Tesla's first car, we're still looking at a good difference in price. Average consumers cannot afford EV.... yet.

I'm looking forward to a completely different future though. With Cybercab/robotaxi as a possible method of transportation, the future could render car ownership completely irrelevant. I envision those companies offer a fixed monthly service contract (less than what it costs to own a car) for unlimited (or max number of) rides up to certain reasonable range. And if the number of vehicles in service is adequate, any request will get a ride within few mins, people would just ditch their cars and use robotaxi only. I know I would. Not only that, I'll be part of small business network that offers the service.
