To do this, scientists placed a resistive magnet (a sophisticated electromagnet) coupled to massive bank of capacitors within another magnet fixed at a "lower" magnetic field. A short lived pulse reaching over 1.5-4million times Earth's magnetic field was generated. This beast of a magnet makes an eery sound as it is energized. Prepare for the birth of Magneto!
