I've used Sonnet 4.5 most days for almost everything recently. However, last week it got stuck on a problem. So I took a screenshot of the issue (was a math error that led to a visualization issue) and gave it to Opus 4.6 with 2 sentences of prompt. 28 minutes later O4.6 reasoned itself to the correct root cause and fix. Game changing moment for me. It figured out the issue from a screenshot. But i also gave O4.6 another problem and it chewed on it in circles for half an hour and hit me for 16x usage requests even though i only asked it one question. I put the same question back to S4.5 and it figured it out quickly.

Great tips. After a couple months of pretending to be a software engineer, I've come to nearly the same conclusions, especially #1. The only thing AI is going to replace in the short term is junior devs (which is going to create a lack of experienced devs in the future). The tools cannot just magically create good software from nothing, but they are the best damn auto-complete you can imagine. This is already showing to be game changer for experienced devs who know what they want and know what 'good' looks like.

Building a glorified vending machine is not disruptive. This is actually a head scratcher given amazon's clear market leading logistics. They can't make any money doing this. Pharmacists are not the enemy. They do serve an important role in making sure people get what they are supposed to. Agree. I have had one for about 10 years and the app canâ(TM)t even set the basic time and temperature settings reliably. Itâ(TM)s also not a great method of cooking. Sure your meat may not have a temperature gradient, but thereâ(TM)s no flavor from browning reactions. Cooking a steak once on high heat is so much better and less effort than cooking it in water, then drying it thoroughly, then cooking it again. I mainly use it to reheat frozen vac sealed bag of leftover bbq cooked on the smoker. Reheated meat is better than fresh.

We did this for a work project recently using a major automation supplier's software. Even with the most powerful Xeon+RadeonRTX machine we could buy, and a very simplified model, it took 100x real time to run. So I get why NV wants to go this direction.... it's not useful without extreme computing power.

The software is necessarily insanely complicated too and it took a team of high end of people to build (or worse, manage) the models. It was cool what it could do if you could figure out how to make it work though.

No need. Even the most basic SXM plans come with the streaming app that has even more channels that the satellite does. I listen to SXM more on my Sonos when at home and on my phone while out walking. They know satellite is dead and have already said they aren't launchign anymore.

I have to do the same song and dance with them every year. Their best deal is $4/mo right now. I do pay that since its better than listening to the trash terrestrial radio in the car. I think they are easy to cancel, but you do have to be very firm with them.

Spent a number of years working with this company. Mind boggling inept group of people and leadership. They spent $150 million on a bottle filling line I worked on that was outperformed by $2 million ones they already had. Management just couldnâ(TM)t understand that something poorly engineered wouldnâ(TM)t work no matter how much money they threw at it. In the end they moth balled it and hid the fact from their shareholders because it was too big to fail.
