I don't complain about games that require endless amounts of repetition or going through slow boring parts, I just don't play them and end up playing the faster paced games and easier access.

I recently bought Guild Wars Factions and I honestly can't be bothered to get to level five because it's too much of a drag to assemble your party and wander out into a quest area and have to spend a few hours to complete it. At the end of a work day, I've only got an hour or two to myself and I'll be damned if I waste it assembling a party and killing a bunch of mantids of whatever the hell again.

I'm enjoying quake 4 - I can save it from anywhere and if need be, drop into cheat mode and give myself full health, armor and ammo. Nothing sucks worse than having to start a level over because you don't have enough health or ammo for the last tough fight in a level.

Weeeell... that sounds good at first. Remember though that most people that follow that, the traditional and the new age alike, try to avoid that due to the law of threes: a basic summary being whatever you do is returned threefold to you. In other words, said witchdoctor would have three times the curse he put on SCO thrown right back at him, and he knows that. Take into account the fact that a witchdoctor who refills printer cartriges probably reads slashdot and groklaw, and knows SCO doesn't really have much to show in the way of evidence (or SCO wouldn't need to ask IBM for everything they've contributed so they can then look for breaches of IP) and said witchdoctor would be stupid to do this. They'd just bring a load of negative energy straight down on them to accomplish something that the army of IBM lawyers seems to be doing well enough on their own.

Journal Journal: An update for a long neglected journal

Well, a while ago I overloaded on Slashdot and had to take a break. Put simply, far too many arrogant comments were made in response to some articles, and I became disillusioned.

Linux

Journal Journal: Back to Red Hat... Sort of... 1

So, after looking around at different things like TA-Linux and other linux packages, I finally found one I kinda like... JAMD Linux. It's essentially Red Hat 9, only with RH's update tool replaced by apt-4-rpm, RH's modified KDE replaced with a vanilla KDE skinned to resemble MacOS, and geared for home use. Just Another Modified Distribution Linux is currently in release 0.0.6, but is just about as stable as RH9. I've decided to help out in whatever way I can.

BSD

Journal Journal: FreeBSD - Take 497

Okay... disgusted with the bloat that was Red Hat 9.0 after hearing friends talk about fully functioning desktop solutions the size of Red Hat minimal text based install, I decided to try different things.

Journal Journal: The Year Coming to a Close

Well, it's another end-of-year-up-late-at-night-chain-smoking-and-thinking-about-life sessions. This year has been a bittersweet blend of some of the best and worst moments of my life. There have been so many ups and downs that at this point I'm just glad it's over and hope that 2003 is a bit more stable.

Journal Journal: A random blort about life in general 1

Isn't it funny how you can be just itching to talk about everything and nothing all at once, but when you get the opportunity you stare dumbfounded at the media of choice, trying to search for what seemed clear a few minutes before?

Life continues to pile up it's mental debris like computer hardware piles up around my apartment. New job offers the ability to expand/upgrade hardware.
