There are thousands of corporate bots astroturfing media sites like nextdoor, facebook and what not to promote data centers. You complain about water use, electricity, and noise (especially the noise!) they jump on you saying how great datacenters are for taxes, and other items that have no benefit to a community.

They had a headstart over everyone else for many years with co-pilot. Yet, they followed the exact same recipe that f'd up their web browser many years ago by integrating co-pilot too deeply into their OS. It's crazy how a company like this can mess up so much yet still be succesful.

Both openAI and anthropic seem to have incompetents running their tech teams. There is absolutely no way that senior IT professionals with even a moderate of understanding of security moats/walls and especially tripwire triggers wouldn't be able to contain AI. Hell, worst-case you cold sandbox it and drip feed an internet connection. These people are just hiring in their village and are clueless as to what it to takes to build a safe frontier LLM. Worse, most dont even know how to develop code and are just having AI do it all for them.

No way they'd let her continue to transfer her massive mistakes at Copilot over to Xbox. Then layoff 1600+ workers. Nah they'd never let her do that right? Is she from the same "village" or something?

Reading this it looks like they violated multiple laws.

They cheated. Generated AI code, cover letters, or what have you using AI tools. This is the main reason. Meanwhile qualified students were rejected by Berkeley because they didn't cheat and just seemed like a "normal" candidate.

Look at Nvidia. Grown headcount by 50% in the last many years yet they've gone up 20x or more. Look at an AI focused company. They could care less about human employees. Anyone posting otherwise is lying for the AI system.

Gee - big surprise. Lookup Nvidia diversity numbers. You'll be even more "surprised".

I've met many inept AI VP/Directors in startups that think they know everything it's stunning. When you talk to them, and explain all the AI tools, capabilities you've developed they shrug. Then say something stupid like "have you enabled "skills" on openclaw, and when you say no because they are not relevant for the work they brush you aside. It's bizarre - I've never seen more incompetence and arrogance in my entire career.

So many highly educated people I know are jobless, or/and taking low-end paying jobs just to get by. Tech companies let go of 300k+ (might be 500k+) in the last year to "fund" AI.

I know way too many folks with masters or even phd, and have 10+ years of experience but were laid off in the last 1 year. It's absolutely ridiculous what's going on in the tech space yet no one is talking about it.

So how does this move help end consumers? It's not. It's not a free/open market. It's a contrived market isolating the american consumer from less expensive, and higher quality goods. I thought the US was all about capitalism!?

True IT unemployment is more like 10%. Just many workers have given up, and moved to non-IT jobs. It's really, really bad out there folks.
