What most of the other users commenting on this fail to understand, is that Damus is built with the open protocol Nostr which allows inter-App communication. Nostr, by having an open decentralized protocol, basically makes all social media companies stupid. The big news here is that we are gaining a mass adoption of the Nostr protocol. Fair enough, firstly, other things use electricity, but I must imagine it's easy for you to reduce the benefits of bitcoin to enabling crime ( which fiat and gold also support ) when you just might be living in a country that has a stable currency ( if you are in the US you have the global reserve status ). Countries with weak economies and corrupt governments don't have such luxuries. So bitcoin can serve as an alternative ( Kenya, Nigeria ). Furthermore, as "informed" as it is on the current status of the project, you can't help but notice that it is espoused by a BitcoinSV proponent, and not a developer or someone that has experience with technical engineering.
