It sucked because you had to virtually 'walk' to each location, which was totally unnecessary. How about those 3D window managers?
I totally agree. I don't think we'll see a real 3D environment get adopted until we overcome mouse-and-keyboard input. It'll be awhile until we can jam controller chips into our frontal lobes, but maybe good VR gloves would be a first step?
