Most likely, the Verizon nexus one will also be sold unlocked, and work with Sprint. Then anyone can get this phone on any of the four major networks in the US. So, while you cannot leave T-mobile to go to sprint with this phone, if you were a new buyer, you could pick either network. So the only carrier of the four that doesnt get 3g on the nexus one is ATT. Also, you do save $20/month on the plan if you buy it unlocked. The subsidized plan is 500minutes, unlimited sms, unlimited web for 79.99 With t-mobile's no contract plans, 500minutes, unlimited sms, unlimited web is 59.99 Unlimited minutes, sms, and web is 79.99 with no contract.

This is my hammer. There are many like it but this one is mine. My hammer is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My hammer, without me, is useless. Without my hammer, I am useless. I must use my hammer true. I must swing straighter than my nail who is trying to resist me. I must swing him before he falls out of the whole. I will... I won't finish this creed. ... for the sake of being arrested for possession of a hammer(with intent to use). I guess I'll have to hire government professionals to repair my wood picnic table huh? Pretty soon the hardware store will be asking me for a background check and SSN before I can buy a hammer... lets not even go talking about nail guns.

Can Music Survive Inside the Big Box? 90

_randy_64 writes "In a story that ties in nicely with a recent discussion about the possible reprieve for Net Radio, the Wall Street Journal asks Can Music Survive Inside the Big Box? The article discusses how the 'big box' stores (e.g. Wal-Mart, Best Buy) are cutting back on space and acceptance of music CDs. With 85% of music sales still coming from CDs, maybe this is another thing to push the music industry towards better online sales models? 'Thanks largely to aggressive pricing and advertising, big-box chains are now responsible in the U.S. for at least 65% of music sales (including online and physical recordings), according to estimates by distribution executives, up from 20% a decade ago. Where a store that depends on CDs for the bulk of its sales needs a profit margin of around 30%, big chains get by making just 14% on music, say label executives who handle distribution. One of these executives describes the shift as a tidal wave.'"

Paul Allen's Microsoft Experience 515

theodp writes "Just in case Microsoft bashers don't have enough ammo, Robert X. Cringely has a couple of interesting tales in this week's column. The first explains how Bill Gates used Paul Allen's moonlighting at MITS to justify awarding himself 64% of Microsoft's stock vs. Allen's 36% (and Gates' failure to adjust the shares after he accepted a $10/hour part-time MITS job). The second heart-warming tale concerns a conversation Allen reportedly overheard late one night (as he was finishing up DOS 2.0) between Gates and Steve Ballmer discussing how to get Allen's Microsoft stock back if the Hodgkins disease Allen was battling killed him. Yikes."

I think the problem is more that sexuality, whether it be homo or not, should not be an issue in a teen rated game. We have friendster and true.com for meeting partners. Sexuality has no place in WoW, and blizzard made the right move, in that case. It's not that you cant be gay and play WoW, it's that you cant have a clan that promotes sexual content in the game.
