  • Not bad at all! I like how you managed to time it with the release of the news that a chemist has been able to create RNA from the prebiotic components. :-)

    I was kind of surprised not to see credits at the end. Were you supposed to title it?

      Thanks!

      I could have added titles, but by the time I finished it, I just wanted to get it in. Plus the software I was using to put the end product together was horribly cumbersome (and I am unfamiliar with it). I should figure out how many hours I put into it total (many).

        I know just how you feel: "GET THIS DONE AND AWAY FROM ME NOW!!!"

        Fortunately for me, my final was on Monday, so now I can drink without worrying about it affecting my homework! Plus, the drinking helps with not worrying about the grade I'll get on that final (it was a tough one.) :-)

          I am so sick of that song. I think I mentioned elsewhere that I have seen the entire thing hundreds of times already, and heard the song nearly as many.

          I'm not sure the youtube video does it justice; the sound and video is better in the original. Oh well....

  • The movements of the tree look very natural. How long did it take to render?

      Yeah I like the tree :-)

      On my fastest machine it rendered about one frame every three minutes (i.e. it took an hour and a half of render time to create one second of film). Even starting early, I still had to rush things.

  • Not bad. I have a few suggestions however:
    1) Naked girls need to be incorporated into this video. Trees alone are boring.
    2) Put a little more action in the video by adding some porn to it. EVERYBODY loves porn, whether they admit it or not. You're bound to get a higher grade.
    3) Make the whole thing stroboscopic. It has a hypnotizing effect, just like the BLINK element for HTML. This will set you apart from the competition.
    4) Have some flying saucers buzzing around in the background.

    I like the short - it's amazing how much effort has to go into the creation of something like that.

  • I liked the ring effect from the impact, and thought the tree's growth was really well done. I'm already looking forward to the next one!
  • Just kidding. The way you had the tree waving around like in a breeze was awesome. The ending was a little confusing to me: What's the pullout through the blue rings supposed to be?
