Journal nizo's Journal: Vonage, you suck 7
Before you sign up for vonage, take a look at this fine print: $39.99 disconnect fee if you disconnect your service within two years of signing up. Seriously, a disconnect fee that costs twice what I pay for the service monthly? And though I am sure this is all buried in their contract somewhere, I certainly didn't see it when I signed up. Nice.

If a company has more than 30 employees, then chances are it's untrustworthy and unreliable. It gets slightly better below 30. Never trust anyone over 30.
Compare to phone company (Score:1)
Phone companies have the same disconnect fees when you sign a contract now-a-days. I've switched entirely to cell phone only. I figure if I'm going to pay for the cell phone, there's no need for redundancy.

Now that I've cursed you with that ear bug you should know that I feel your pain. I will never give any money to Verizon for similar reasons. My wife spent a total of almost 20 hours on hold over 2 weeks trying to cancel a second line in the house. Turns out there's a special cancellation line if you want to cancel. No one else can do it.

This is why I liked Cricket in the past (I dunno, maybe they have an absurd disconnect fee now too??). If they let me go month to month and leave any time I want, then it is up to them to keep me as a customer, so I expect (and got) better service then from a company that had me locked up in a two year contract, who could screw me at will since I wouldn't leave because of the contract. Now that I have a work cell I don't care, but if I ever do end up going back to paying for my cell, it will be with someone
