  • p.s. why do I keep typing "pythong" instead of python???

Because it's something you'd rather dive into? ;-)

  • I thought somebody bearing a striking resemblance to myself recommended this one to you two or three years ago... or maybe that was someone else. :-)

It's very good if you already know another programming language. As a way to learn your first... well I think it could be useful, but there are easier ways. The book presupposes that you already know what you want to do and what are good tools to do them. The very first example includes defining a function, method calls, list comprehensions, and the python

Heh you probably told me before, but hey I found it again!!!

I already know perl, php, and several other programming languages, so I am guessing this is just what I need.

Perfect, then! You won't be sorry. I was just griping at lunch with some cow-orkers about how I have programmed in Perl on and off for 13 years now, and if I want to do an array of hashes, or a hash of arrays, I STILL have to look it up in the Camel Book. That sort of stuff just works in Python, the way you'd expect it to.
  • Is Done;-)
  • But, hey, a free book on it... Why the heck not, eh? Sounds like fun for a boring workday ;-)
