It irks me when I'm driving along and map app shows a red line for traffic ahead, or a gas station, or whatever, but I never know how far away it is or how long the back is. Because they never put a scale bar on the map. Is that traffic jam 1 mile long, 5 miles long? Who knows?

I'd love it if the map apps (be it google maps, waze, apple maps) would simply tell me how many miles or km the vertical extent is, top to bottom of the display == 1.5 miles or whatever. Just drop a few characters into the lower right corner of the display "1.5mi".

Think about how many ditch-diggers don't have jobs because of backhoes!

How about pick-and-place circuit card assembling robots? Think of all the people who could be soldering tiny parts onto tiny boards!

DirecTV filed a complaint Saturday with the Federal Communications Commission alleging Disney did not negotiate in good faith as the two sides remain at an impasse on a distribution deal.

“Disney has violated the FCC’s good faith mandates by predicating any licensing agreement on DIRECTV’s waiving any legal claims on Disney’s past, current, or future anticompetitive actions, including its ongoing packaging and minimum penetration demands,” a DirecTV spokesperson told CNN on Sunday.

In the 10-page complaint, DirecTV claimed the negotiations stalled because, “Disney insists on bundling and penetration requirements that a federal district court judge in New York recently found in the context of the ‘Venu’ joint venture to be unlawful, anticompetitive, and ‘bad for consumers.’”

In the document, Charter listed out the following as reasons for the ongoing stalemate between the two sides, putting the blame on Disney:

Disney owns Hulu and Fubo, and they WANT to force you onto their platforms.

The DVD/BluRay service had so many more titles available than the streaming service side provides. Was really sorry to see it go, and cancelled Netflix as a result. The only streaming service I use now is Amazon Prime, and that's pretty much only be default.
