Some may consider the things that you don't earn with, as toys. I myself own a Nikon D7000 and some lenses, tripod, camera bag, a bunch of smartphones (that I don't use on a daily basis), a laptop, Raspberry Pi and shitload of electronics, 7 or 8 flutes. After all we indulge in these when we're not working for a living...So technically they're toys....

Submission + - Apple CEO Likens Surface to Car That Flies, Floats

theodp writes: Conceding that he hadn't actually played with one, Apple CEO Tim Cook told Wall Street that Microsoft's Surface tablet is 'a fairly compromised, confusing product' in the company's 4Q earnings call. Cook joked, 'I supposed you could design a car that flies and floats, but it wouldn't do those things very well.' In Apple's 2Q earnings call, Cook also mocked the idea of touch on a laptop or desktop, quipping, 'You can converge a toaster and a refrigerator, but those things are probably not going be pleasing to the user.' Cook added, 'We've done tons of user testing on this, and it turns out it doesn't work. Touch surfaces don't want to be vertical.' So, is Cook just pulling a page from Steve Jobs' people-don’t-read-anymore playbook, or is he unaware that children happily used vertical touch screens forty years ago on UIUC's PLATO System (more PLATO History)?

Comment I use AMD Trinity Laptop. (Score 1) 223

I myself have an AMD trinity based laptop and I always do heavy multiplayer gaming on it. I know its performance is better than Core i3 because my friend has a core i3 and a dedicated Nvidia graphics card, but still it can't match the performance of my laptop. AMD has definitely stepped up its product line up in the lower mid range offerings.

IMHO, the only way power scenario in India might develop is by privatising the Power sector just like telecommunication. That way, the services will become more reliable. The downside is there won't be any subsidies and hence the price per unit will shoot up (however, this rise in price will partly be compensated by competition amongst different players). This would also take care of the power theft problem (because private companies won't want their power stolen! They would take proper precautions so that it doesn't happen).
