Comment Streaming quality worse than pirated quality (Score 1) 50

I'm watching Spider-Noir at the moment directly off Amazon Prime Video (in the B&W mode that they offer), and I'm frequently seeing dark back background gradients and even characters' faces being reduced to about three grades of really obvious blotchiness, transporting me to the era of 16-bit gaming and extremely limited colour palettes. I've stopped watching the occasional pirated movie for bitrate-related sins that were nowhere near as bad as this. Also, I'm reminded of the time when the anti-piracy adverts used to argue that you would get far better quality with the genuine article, now the only time that's true is at the cinema.

It definitely could have been worse: they could have taken a page out of their competitor's book and named three different products the same name.

I don't see what is so hard about switching the vast majority of common office computers.

From personal experience with customers, many have this immediate adverse reaction to even seeing an alternative product, especially when they have no experience of that product. In almost any size workplace I'd expect it to be an uphill struggle purely due to prejudicial attitudes. The only time I wouldn't expect an uphill struggle would be if the almost unanimous mood was against the current software, which to be frank with regard to Microsoft products, it isn't. They annoy the hell out of me, especially the multiple flavours of Microsoft Outlook.

Okay, so no rebuttal to any of my points.

I'll tell you what: I'll give you a chance to respond and make a counter-argument to what I *actually wrote* in good faith, or you can chalk this up as a clear win against your imaginary opponent. I honestly don't mind either way, but those are the only two options I'm offering.

Check: It's not genocide because Israel hasn't killed enough of them yet.

Okay, so you agree that Israel isn't committing genocide. It's been 3 years and Israel hasn't managed to kill all the Gazans, and the Gazans' population has actually gone up. You saying that it's genocide is a criminally evil lie. Crying wolf about genocide is awful.

You're witnessing a very just, and ethically demanded, war of defence against barbarism where the defenders are bending over backwards to protect civilians and the attackers are hiding behind poor civilians.

The plight of the "Palestinians" is nobody's fault but their own.

This is a war of civilization and the rule of law against barbarism and lawlessness. And yet you have a massive problem with that.

Reading comprehension is not your strong suit, nor is basic history of Israel's insertion into Palestine by the British.
