Except that in Tex-ass the renewable sources actually continued to function and provide power into the grid. They out performed the other sources in terms of reliability. There is little doubt that there needs to be the capability to back-fill where renewables are not capable of providing for the demand but to say that they are the reason for the failure is clearly false! All security concerns aside, applications like Tic Tok, Face book, Twitter, etc have no use and should not be on any company or government devices unless the company or agency have a presence on the platform. Then only those that are directly involved with the administration of the presence on the platform should have the apps and be viewing them. You are there to work, not watch stupid fucking videos or read posts by assholes. That is what your personal device is for on your breaks and personal time. Your traffic should not pass over the corporate or government networks either. What is so hard to understand about this?

This is nothing to Amazon since this is maybe at most the amount of money a couple of warehouse workers don't get payed in wages and benefits. OSHA has no teeth in the law against such a predatory and abusive employer. Other than a blip of bad press this means NOTHING TO THEM AT ALL!

One of the main reasons I install a second conduit from the pole to the home when running the power. In your case it sounds like the service comes in on the utility poles so there was little in the way of additional work required on the part of the cable company. Likely they fed your home with RG8 or maybe RG11 to save the cost of running proper hard line. Out in the sticks sucks for this sort of service neglect but them's the result of government supported lack of competition.

Happy? Likely not. But here in the states there is usually only one provider and you are stuck with them. We have Spectrum and they are decent. Over the years bottom tier has gone from 50/5 to 300/10. Periodically we have to drop the service and switch the account holder to reduce our monthly from the $74.00 a month to their special offer of $49.00/month for a year. So happy, no. Cable and phone companies are government supported monopolies. In a perfect world the cities own the last mile and is fibre and all the providers simply run their trunks into the COs. This makes changing a provider is as easy as changing a routing table.

I suspect that they would have to do as American and European companies must do if they want to play in the Chinese sand box. They could open up their code for their equipment and the chip tape outs to the various governments security arms for review. They won't though.

I don't give a fuck about any of the hardware platforms built into any TVs or players. My panels are not connected to the internet via copper or WiFi except on the rare occasion I might install a firmware update. I use a separate Computer that is stripped and locked down for the play of streamed services and music. I wish they had an option to simply get a panel without all the "smart TV" bullshit. No voice command, no cameras, no tuners, just HDMI with ARC and DP.

Not shitting on you but your very specific use case does not make them any more relevant. Yes, they provide people like you with help and that is good but if a company can't make what amounts to a fancy watch from the 70s do stuff that is really actually useful then how are they to turn a profit.
