Sorry I stupidly conflated restitution to victims and fines there. I meant to say the victims would be made whole and then the fine on top. So the crooks lose everything they've gained and a penalty.
I'll never understand how fines are a tiny portion of the theft. It should be the whole amount stolen plus damages. Then a fine. Hardly a dissentive stealing 27 and only have to pay 1 back. Unless I'm missing the part they had to pay it back too
Wasn't there an Ars journalist who lost their job recently from using AI which included a made up quote?
Also I love the person thinks they've done the work now. If you don't write it you haven't created it it's quite simple.
That's the same thing I thought. Unless they've done something weird with their backend you'd have thought everything would be easy to transfer over. Wonder if perhaps it was just an excuse to kill the public online component.
At least in my mind the idea of working from home is just the option of working wherever you want. If you want to go into an office, a coworking space, a coffee shop or go work at a park. Doesn't matter as long as the work gets done in my mind. I much prefer working from the local pub. Get left alone with awesome food anytime I want. Alcohol probably not recommended.
Probably a case of aiming to monetise it via being a one stop shop for all EU tech needs. Otherwise I cannot see the need for them to fork it in house.
