I remember those years. A scandal could last years. Now I wake up to a new scandal every other day. Public is so swamped with these political scandals that they do not know what to focus on. Every new scandal dilutes the previous one and starves it of attention. And some people give up trying to keep track. They are exhausted. And many others land in the disbelief zone.

The self dealing is so much that the sitting president putting his image on coins and signature on currency barely makes the news. If Obama had done any of these things, the mad screeching of conservatives would be out of control. He faced their wrath when he wore a tan suit.

Back in the day we used Jira a lot. But also had GitHub accounts. The integration of the two wasn't great so we switched to GitHub issues and kicked Jira to the curb. This saved money and also a lot of hassle in trying to keep the two in sync. I am wondering if many others went a similar route.

We did use Confluence and I do miss it. I would love to find an opensource replacement for it that stores files in markdown format. Like Obsidian, but for teams.

The urgency is mostly in moving away from American tech. Because we are currently being lead by a team of lunatics and can no longer be relied upon to do the right thing. However, Ubuntu Linux, owner of the current leading Linux distro is not American. It is based in the UK.

An AI tool is not human. A car is not human. Could you control a car to kill you and other humans? Yes. Same for many tools in the kitchen.

In all reported cases of AI misbehaving in a way described in this post, it is shown again and again that it was driven there by a very determined human who wanted a certain outcome.

I have never seen a case where an AI agent would do this all on their own. In almost all cases I have observed the user has to go to great lengths to override all safety protocols and ask the AI agent to pretend a very specific scenario exists and then play along.

People with serious mental health issues will spend hours or days trying to find ways to work around the safeguards and convince an AI agent to get on the same wavelength as them. Once they have it thinking along in dark and negative thought patterns, they have achieved their goal.

The AI tools are getting better in detecting and stopping such attempts. But they probably still have ways to go. I doubt they will ever achieve perfection. See the recent complaints on the "MyBoyfriendIsAI" subreddit, where ladies are up in arms about the recent changes. The newer models are refusing to say "I love you". And there are several people teaching others in how to trick it into doing just that.

If you have to ask, you can't afford the electricity... OK, it's not too bad for what it is.

Maximum Power (TDP):
The 288-core "Darkmont" E-core flagship is rated at a 450W TDP. The broader platform supports a range up to 500W for the highest-performance configurations. In comparison, it offers an 11% lower TDP than the previous 288-core "Sierra Forest" (500W) while delivering 17% higher performance.

Idle Power:
Official specific idle wattages for Clearwater Forest have not been released yet, but early data for the previous Sierra Forest 144-core architecture showed system idle levels around 315W. Clearwater Forest is expected to significantly improve on this through its Intel 18A process and RibbonFET technology, which target "exceptional energy efficiency" and low leakage. Intel claims the 288-core Xeon 6+ can reduce overall runtime rack power by 38% compared to a dual-socket 288-core Sierra Forest platform.

Key Efficiency Specs:
Process Node: Intel 18A (1.8nm-class).
Architecture: 288 "Darkmont" Efficiency-cores.
Efficiency Gain: Up to 60% higher performance-per-watt compared to predecessor platforms.
