I think you got confused by all this talk of the strange, alien device (to most Americans, at least) called "a passport". The many times I've visited the USA, the attitude seems to be "Why would I want to visit any other country? The U S of A is the greatest country in the world & there's nowhere that's better than us *cue "stars & stripes forever" blaring in the background* " The only reason Americans travel en mass is to kill a countries citizens, often for the interests of its' corporations. Americans consider war to be exclusively an "road game". The one time other countries' citizens travelled to the USA to kill, you'd have thought the world had ended.
