Comment Windows of efficacy (Score 5, Informative) 181

I am not going to comment on the efficacy of this treatment. Studies are coming out at lighting pace with different treatments and different patient populations. What I can speak to is my experience with patients that have been diagnosed with Covid. From what I have seen (anecdotal) alot of these patients stay home and fool themselves into thinking it is only an allergy or the flu. They will do this for over two weeks if they can, and at that point it sounds like the window is closed for this treatment. The same holds true with Florida and the monoclonal antibodies. Yes, they do help you recover a bit faster, BUT you have to admit you are sick with covid within ten days of agreeing to taking that medication. The mental gymnastics of a-lot of these anti vaxxers have performed is truly at a Simone Biles level. And when they end up in the ICU they ask for these therapeutics that are outside of their efficiently window.

"A growing body of evidence indicates that people fully vaccinated with an mRNA vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) are less likely than unvaccinated persons to acquire SARS-CoV-2 or to transmit it to others. However, the risk for SARS-CoV-2 breakthrough infection in fully vaccinated people cannot be completely eliminated as long as there is continued community transmission of the virus." https://www.cdc.gov/coronaviru...

the vaccine protects you. So why make it mandatory ? Let everyone evaluate their own risk level. This bullshit about "fucking your neighbors over" is illogical nonsense.

If you want to be protected, take the vaccine. That's it.

How can you people keep saying something that is this dumb? Its like saying that running a stop sign will only effect you. That is dumb. It protects you AND your anyone you come into contact with. Stop spreading your lies.

The CDC just told everybody that the vaccines do NOT prevent you from catching and spreading COVID, thus we need mask up again, including vaccinated people.

If vaccinated can catch and spread COVID, that means it doesn't matter if we manage to get everybody 100% vaccinated -- the virus is still going to be able to exist and mutations will eventually occur.

Over 99% of Gibraltar's population was fully vaccinated by June 1st. Since then, new COVID cases per day have increased by more than 2500%.

Iceland is about 90% vaccinated. Cases have exploded in the last two weeks and they've re-instituted masks, social distancing, and even lockdowns.

We're going to need more effective treatments than the current batch of hastily put together, leaky vaccines.

Hard to figure out if you are lying or stupid. Gibraltar infection rate has not increased by "2500%". I would very much like a citation for that. Like I said, you are either lying or stupid. Maybe both?

I would not call it "racist". But it can divide people based on race. Unfortunately, the US has had a history of the medical and governmental establishments lying to our minority populations. We should not blame the black or hispanic populations for being unvaccinated. Instead we needed more education focused on those populations.

There are many things that you can not do by law, because it would effect my safety and "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Think of what would happen if every asshat that screamed "MY FREEDOMS!" got to do everything they wanted. Dont want to stop at a red light? FREEDOM! Wanna drive way over the speed limit? FREEDOM! You dont want to walk through security at the airport? FREEDOM! Not getting vaccinated is directly related to potentially harming someone other than yourself.
