The last few days i was discussing with a friend over the poor connectivity in his ISP. He's having trouble connecting to MSN and P2P apps because his ISP suddenly switched to NAT. So I wondered... what about IPv6? It's old enough, and maybe it would be time to switch (our country's NIC has decided to stop assigning IPv4 addresses by 2011). But is IPv6 available for users already?

Copowi's main pitch is a fully neutral network, which it defines as one that provides "equal access to all web sites and online services." The idea is that usage will be unrestricted and traffic will not be shaped, throttled, or prioritized. According to Matafonov, the major telecommunications companies want to "privatize the Internet" because greater control leads to greater profits. The eventual outcome could become something more like cable television than like the open Internet we know now, and Copowi strongly supports SavetheInternet.com's campaign to preserve an open 'Net.
The owner claims to only need 5000 subscriptions to move his ISP out of Washington, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and California and into the national arena. With 256 DSL at $33.95, 1.5Mbs for $49.95, and 7Mbs for $59.99, are you willing to spend the extra dollar for network neutrality?

Journal Journal: Friday the US exceeded its legal debt limit by $5 BILLION 10
The current US debt limit is $8,965 billion.
Friday, the US debt stood at 8,969,803,128,789.47. That's almost $5 billion OVER the legal limit.
Back on July 30th, the government predicted it would hit the ceiling some time in October. Instead of more than a month, it took just 10 days.
Blogger Finds Bug in NASA Global Warming Study? 755
An anonymous reader writes "According to an article at DailyTech, a blogger has discovered a Y2K bug in a NASA climate study by the same writer who accused the Bush administration of trying to censor him on the issue of global warming. The authors have acknowledged the problem and released corrected data. Now the study shows the warmest year on record for the contiguous 48 states as being 1934, not 1998 as previously reported in the media. In fact, the corrected study shows that half of the 10 warmest years on record occurred before World War II." The article's assertion that there's a propaganda machine working on behalf of global warming theorists is outside the bounds of the data, which I think is interesting to note.
