It looks intelligent. The two things are absolutely not the same. Recounts exist as a tool to combat fraud. Not accepting the result of a clear result or after a recount and after the EC meets would be encouraging civil war (regardless of it is warranted or not). Otherwise there is a legal precedent for it and it is perfectly legitimate. This isn't how Trump answered in the debate. He shrugged and pretty much said we'll see.
That said, I don't think the results will change. I've seen more intentionally misleading infographs and propaganda this cycle than ever before. Hillary and Donald's stances on election results aren't complicated, and at least in the case of Hillary are not hypocritical, and shouldn't take long to boil down to facts. I was not outraged by Donald's comments on election results in the debates. Like other things it seemed to be like he just hasn't thought about it yet.
