What if I have three pages of documentation open in a web browser, my IDE, and other software development programs running?

I can't envision a poor typist switching applications, editing code, and using other shortcuts without being miserably unproductive.

Being miserably unproductive would definitely effect the quality of the code.

Powered by Samsung's own 1GHz ARM Cortex A8-based Hummingbird processor with a four-inch Super-AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, it's no wonder Samsung has sold over 5 million Galaxy S phones. The Epic 4G variant of this phone, available through Sprint, is also one of the scant few 4G capable devices on the market currently. Sprint's 4G network utilizes WiMAX mobile broadband, with a theoretical maximum throughput of 40Mbps. Sprint claims that the average download speed on its 4G network is between 3 to 6Mbps, with peak download speeds above 10Mbps. The performance figures seen here actually show solid throughput for the Epic, besting competitive 3G devices and even versus some with a Wi-Fi connection. 4G WiMAX service is still rather limited geographically, but hopefully devices like these will help to kick the roll-out into gear a bit."

In summary, open source Java is fine, open source almost-Java is not.

You mean, aside from the fact that they are exactly the same language and both provide a large number of the same classes in the java.* namespace, they are completely different?

Then the abomination that is this date goes home to compare notes on blood sample preservation methods.

For those on Ubuntu:

$ sudo apt-get install chromium-browser

Also add the following to /etc/apt/sources.list:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/chromium-daily/ppa/ubuntu intrepid/jaunty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/chromium-daily/ppa/ubuntu intrepid/jaunty main

It crashes quite a bit (it's not ready) but it's nice to follow its development.

An anonymous reader writes "It's fitting, in this 400th anniversary of the astronomical telescope, that the Telescopio Nationale Galileo (TNG) in the Canary Islands would be used to uncover the most distant object ever seen by mankind. The gamma-ray burst from April 23, a powerful explosion from a dying star, was detected by the Swift satellite using on-board gamma-ray and X-ray instruments. A flurry of activity led to the remarkable discovery that the event occurred roughly 630 million years after the Big Bang. This makes GRB 090423 the most distant known event!"
