Subscribers have various controls available to them in their

Have I missed something? I am a subscriber, and the only option like this that I see is the combo box that enables and disables comments and (for subscribers) limits the posting of comments to friends, friends of friends, non-foes, and non-foes-of-friends. Is it possible to make "Anonymous Coward" a foe?

Oh, well. I think that the feature request was not read very carefully - no surprise when you consider how busy the editors are. I may try adding another comment, or e-mailing CmdrTaco directly, but it doesn't look like this is in Slashdot's future, mysterious or otherwise. :-)

I think it may be already, that's why subscriptions are being pushed ever so slightly more. Imagine if the 'zoo' was a subscriber benefit, would you subscribe then?

Yeah, zoo, lame as it is, is about the only thing I'd pay for. Even then, I'd have to consider new digs.

Well, just only read comments at 1 or higher. Also, you can change the "Anonymous Modifier" to -1. With that, Anonymous Coward will rarely be read. A better solution may be what you suggestion, and, personally, i agree. But you can make do with what is availible.
