Journal jawtheshark's Journal: Work is da sucks! 6

Now this will most certainly have a backlash! Who wants to bet I'll be summoned by the Fujitsu Resource Manager again?

It's quite simple: the bank where I am a contractor wants us all to put down our free days *now*. That might be fine, but my contract goes till september and after that, nobody knows where I'll be. Considering that I have finally (after much fighting) gotten the two last weeks of august and the first week of september off, I really do not see a reason to justify my "future days off".

Anyways: so I write back a polite email that my vacation days were from then and then and that I have 10 days left. No mention when exactly I would take them.

My *second-up* superior (oops, big mean beastie in the bank hierachy, and I had clashes with him. Besides, he's a jerk: he always acts friendly with you and backstabs you whenever he can) just *decided* for me that I'd take them in december.
I wrote (a slightly disgruntled) reply, but still polite that it was mine to decide and that I was in no case going to file that vacation with Fujitsu.
Of course, he prompty said that I *had* to and that I have *no* choice. Guess what jerk: I have! I pointed out to him that my contract ended september and that he had no way of forcing me to take those vacations. Especially that I officially won't be there.

He never replied to that one: who wants to bet it was forwarded to the account manager? (or higher up?) I'm sure he'll say again that I'm an 'insolent employee'. No... I'm not insolent: you're a jerk and I just do what is best for me, not for you.

When the fuck are employers going to grasp that you can't handle us like cattle. :-/

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.
