insurance is crime - a way to make money by reneging on contractual obligations. The legal system doesn't have the spine to enforce the idea that the ins corp must be ready to go bankrupt paying out for disasters - doesn't understand that the role of an insurance company is to volunteer to be destroyed instead, so that it can mitigate disastrous impacts on others. It must be a selfless industry, not a selfish one, or it doesn't work even in principle and we get this disgusting system instead. the legal system allows these companies to build up their edifice of corporate bullshit and then pretend they're a monolith that needs protecting. It does this due to consideration for insurance company employees, who then get to be as evil as they want under the shelter of a stupid system. Justice needs some fuckin eyes.
