Journal insanecarbonbasedlif's Journal: Moving Sale 23

Found out we were approved on the apartment we wanted in Dublin. Now to try and sell all sorts of stuff on saturday, and then get ready to move the next saturday. (I should start calling people tonight...). Anyhow, we're dumping a bunch of stuff, and if any of you want any of it, let me know and I can sell it to you for (maybe)pittance + shipping, or we can work out some sort of trade. I'll post a partial list tonight, and a fuller list tommorrow.

Here goes:

2 drills (heavy)
Nylon string, no name, guitar. It's a decent instrument.
Phone, cordless 900mHz, (Southern Bell?) Pretty much new, in box with everything it came with
Memorex digital answering machine (crappy recording quality, but it works, and is also virtually new)
Some guitar effects.
Electronics junk. A lot.
Some computer junk.

For the locals (Around Livermore, CA):
A futon. A couch. books.

More to come. Feel free to ask if there's something in particular you are looking for...

  • What kind of drills? Corded/cordless, brand, etc.

    • Corded. I'll get the brands/chuck size/HP ratings tonight and post them tomorrow.
    • Two corded drills. First, a Milwaukee 1/4" chuck 2.8 amp "Heavy Duty" Type S-114G (not variable speed). Second, a Black & Decker 3/8" chuck 2.5 amp variable speed (No. 7120 type B). Let me know quickly if you want either one...
      • I'm interested in the variable speed model provided it's in good shape (like the mortor isn't smelling like its on its last legs) and payment/shipping would be cheap. There's a few Black and Decker's around and a decent variable speed one goes for not terribly much. If I could find one new for $20 I'd buy it. Let me know how this figure compares to your intentions and the used quality of the drill.
        • I've been telling the garage salers $20 a piece. If you want the B&D for $15, let me know in the next half hour and it's yours. Otherwise, if they don't sell today, I'll make a deal with you tomorrow...
        • No one bit on the drills. I'll let you have it for $10 + shipping (unless shipping is super expensive, then you can just have it for shipping). If you want both, they're still here!
      • Let 'em go to someone else. I've got one vaguely like the latter, which is enough for my needs. If you had a hammer drill, OTOH:) Good luck with the sale of items.
  • of electronics and computer junk?
  • I collect guitars (not fancy ones, as being in a college town and having a propencity to play to drunks while drunk tends to give them short life spans), What effects do you have and what's the brand/model on the accoustic? Is it a flat or rounded fretboard?

As for the electronic stuff: I'd be interested in any non-computer stuff (and even some of the computer stuff). I built robots and automation junk for a hobby. Currently, I've been laying out plans to build a MAME box. Bread boards, controller boa
    • I'll have to dig up the details on the guitar tonight and get back to you about it. If I'm left with any electronics that I can't move for money, I'll be sure to let you know, and you can grab them for shipping.
    • The acoustic is a classical neck (flat, no radius) nylon string "Ventura" Model 460, whatever that means. It's also got an old guitar case with it. See the post below in response to TL for more info on the effects (a digitech gsp5, and a boss digital tuner pedal).
      • hmm ... not interested in the guitars. The style I play, if I use a flat fretboard it actually hurts the, the, well, "web" between my thumb and forefinger. No, I don't have webbed hands, I just don't know what it's technichally called. It's not really a joint, but back on topic.

I could use the tuner. If noone wants the GSP, I'll take that, too. See what you can get for it because I don't get paid until Friday :)

Any listing of the electronics, yet?

        • I've decided to transfer most of the electronics with me to the apartment - no one at the garage sale bit, and when I was packing yesterday, it's really only about two boxes full, so I think we might be able to swing it. If I do end up needing to get rid of some of it, I'll let you know, and send it your way for shipping costs.
  • I have a distortion pedal, Wah pedal, and flanger. What do you have that you are getting rid of?
