foreign policy & contributions (Score 1)

Given the fact that a lot of open source contributions come from outside the US, assume someone important or powerful contributed source to Gore 2000 that gave him a shoe-in victory, (because his webpage was just amazing, whatever).
Could this result in something like Clinton had with the contributors from China? hmm...
