White House E-mail Scandal Widens 839

Spamicles alerts us to a report just issued (PDF) by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. At least 88 White House officials used Republican National Committee email accounts for government business. The RNC has destroyed at least some of the emails from 51 of those officials. Law requires emails sent by officials to be stored or recorded. There is evidence that White House lawyers and the (current) Attorney General knew of this but did not act to stop it. From the article: "These e-mail accounts were used by White House officials for official purposes, such as communicating with federal agencies about federal appointments and policies... Given the heavy reliance by White House officials on RNC e-mail accounts, the high rank of the White House officials involved, and the large quantity of missing e-mails, the potential violation of the Presidential Records Act may be extensive."

AT&T Quietly Introduces $10/Month DSL 258

prostoalex writes "As part of the deal with the FCC to approve the AT&T/BellSouth merger, AT&T started selling, but not advertising, a $10-per-month DSL service in 22 states, AP has learned. 'The service provides download speeds of up to 768 kilobits per second and upload speeds of up to 128 kbps, matching the speeds of the cheapest advertised AT&T plan, which costs $19.95 per month in the nine-state former BellSouth area and $14.99 in the 13 states covered by AT&T before the acquisition.'"

You are an idiot... thats the norm here at Slashdot. Trying sticking to subjects that you have a clue about.

Actually, I supported some "small" product called Windows 2000 server. Also, the only tier above me was debug. The outsourced helpdesks called my desk for support. Maybe you might work your way up to working on one someday.

I've since moved on and up from Microsoft.

I bet you, with your poor attitude, are still at the IT level of "Want fries with that?"

Journal Journal: And my work is done 17

The great conservative harrassment experiment has pretty much run its course. I was able to get in a few well-deserved jabs at the goose-step set. Some of them were annoyed so much that they decided to start a mod-bombing campaign against me and those who posted in my journal.

So, I'm declaring that this little experiment is over. I am satisfied that I proved quite conclusively that conservatives would kill you if they could.

Journal Journal: Example of the mod-bombing

Here's a comment that was modded up when it was posted, and days later has been modded down as flamebait. It wasn't flamebait, as anyone who knows the history of Hubble's gyroscopes will attest to.

Journal Journal: One asshole with mod points

As an experiment, I refrained from posting for the weekend. Just as I suspected would happen, one idiot with mod points went through and assigned negative numbers to some of my posts. Looks like three comments were modded down, though they were already at +4 or +5. Then two other people were modded down just for posting in my journal.

This is what the right-wingers do for fun, when they aren't lying or swindling, that is.

First, welcome to all my new friends. Except for my freaks list, I strive to implement tit-for-tat. This cannot last forever, since the number of friends is capped at 200, I believe. A subscription will take it somewhat higher, but after that, I won't be able to befriend all of my fans.

Journal Journal: Conservatives Hate Free Speech 52

This article on Kuro5hin is an interesting read, and it reflects a lot of what I've discovered about my right-wing friends here on Slashdot.

The truth of the matter is that conservatives don't want to hear anything that might make them think. It bothers them when someone has an opinion that does not toe their party line, and they do their best to censor or remove that offending opinion.

There are some people who are apparently so stupid, that they can't figure out what this is (for example, N3WBI3).

This will make it crystal clear. My freaks list is the opt-in list for the Ann Coulter (if she were a liberal) impressions. That's it. If you're in the list, you get them. If you're not in the list, you don't get them.

Yesterday was a good day. Some treasonous conservatives signed up for my opt-in abuse list. Welcome to all you homophobic war-mongering mean-spirited goosesteppers.

Policy updates:

These are effective immediately. Some have been effective for a while.
