I've been on Devuan for several releases. Root on [mirrored] ZFS based on the Debian instructions with some tweaks like writing init scripts, Nvidia driver and CUDA installed from the runfile, X11, KDE, wireplumber, etc etc. My Zen3 MiniPC and Zen+ laptop also, less Nvidia. The laptop is even still on the last version because it just runs a browser and CHIRP.

The best description I've heard is that they want police protection from their slaves, but I don't think that truly captures their full flavor. The description needs to include something about being deluded enough to think they will be in the slave-owning class in the dark future they are happy to help bring about.

Schools across the country used to teach you how to read, write, drive, cook, and even shoot. Yes, in California, too. By the time I got to school we were only shooting arrows, though. I was able to take classes in cooking, woodworking, plastics, and electronics in public school, but you could feel the Reagan pinch for sure. Ok, but I'm partially innumerate. I simply can't do longer sums in my head because I can't keep track of the digits. It may be related to my almost total aphantasia. So I'm never going to be able to do that shit rapidly without a calculator.

A far bigger problem is that people don't learn to think critically so they don't ask the necessary questions. It doesn't matter if they could do the math in their head if they don't understand why.
