Feed Pioneer announces Pure Vision 2 plasmas for Japan (engadget.com)

Pioneer Japan has announced two models of 7th-generation plasma displays, featuring lower power consumption and using Pure Vision 2 technology with increased contrast. The company has modified the glass used for the panel's display, which lowers the level of glare and reflection you'll get, while increasing contrast and brightness. It also uses less juice than ever before, as Pioneer -- along with other plasma manufacturers -- continue to push the envelope for PDP technology. Unfortunately, both the 50-inch PDP-A507HX and 42-inch PDP-A427HX models are only 720p-capable, meaning they'll accept a 1080p input but downconvert the content. The new displays will use 343 and 288 Watts respectively, and will retail for 560,000 and 450,000 Yen ($4700 and $3800 USD) later this month.

New Tools Help Create Cellphone-Friendly Web Sites 78

David Kesmodel from WSJ writes "New low-cost tools are making it easier for companies to register and build Web sites designed for cellphones, the Wall Street Journal reports. Domain-name registrars such as GoDaddy and Network Solutions are starting to roll out all-inclusive packages to target the mobile Web. And mobile-content specialists such as the U.K.'s Bango Ltd. offer their own mobile kits that help companies set up a basic mobile Web presence. Even so, the wireless Internet is still a long way from attracting a critical mass of users."

It has the same problem all console FPS have. Its too slow. I can beat HALO in my sleep. Thus making the first one lackluster. HALO 2 was online, whoopie actually a reason to stay awake. If it is more of the first what reason to I have to buy it, when trying to give myself a challenge (legendary mode) it has FPS sytle in that its an all out blitz of enemies on you, but you can barley keep up. As where in a typical FPS you can out run and gain advantge that way, but no matter what if you aint got the BFG your gonna need alot of ammo. And HALO, while a solid game, just might be out of ammo. As far as to compare to GTA, itis not fair. GTA adds tons of new features everytime so it feels new, but not foreign, and not just some fresh paint on an old fence.
