I don't know where this idea that Fox is not a broadcasting network came from except possibly for that, but it absolutely is and was one and that network supported their cable network. You can pull in frameworks in C just as easily as in any other language. And since now we're using Qt or GTK+ instead of Xaw, Unix apps are bigger. But that's true regardless of language. Plus screen resolution is vastly higher than it used to be. Even phones now commonly have more pixels than even high end workstations used to.
