One of the things I have been liking about doing product research with AI is that you could get some genuine feedback on various products and ways of doing things. Now with advertising entering into the mix, all bets are off. Paid rankings and paid influence on AI responses will ruin any truthfulness as far as using AI as a replacement for search engines goes.

The spork analogy is completely off. Utensils are made of metal and can’t be adapted in the field. Computing devices are driven by software. Today I want it to be a tablet, tomorrow it’s a computer. Simple reboot. Or better yet, coexist seamlessly. The real reason is, why sell customers a tablet or a computer when we can sell them both. That’s the reason behind their laptops having no touch screen input or detachable screens, and why the Files app is such a disaster on an iPhone or iPad.

Same here. In my role as IT and audio studio technical support I have found Perplexity to be amazing at helping me problem solve. Google's results are getting less and less relevant and it's not all that uncommon for Google search to still be bringing up results from as far back as 2008. 2008?? If you haven't tried Perplexity give it a shot. You will not be disappointed.
