Both mice and headsets exist that use Bluetooth, eliminating the need for dongles. Seems like an easy solution if you aren't wedded to using older devices.

Perl has had the concept of "tainted" data for decades now. You have to sanitize the data before using it. Seems like it would be a no-brainer to mark all data obtained from the web as tainted and refuse to use it as instructions.

Agreed, many systems running Linux are used in high reliability and safety critical applications. There is no place for crappy code in the kernel or important run time libraries, so we are definitely relying on people like Linus being tough on people who let problematic code into PRs.

They could just use Yocto to handle building their distribution. Granted that customization of a Yocto distribution can sometimes be mildly painful, but once setup shouldn't be too hard to maintain.

I agree with this. Too many surveys fail to actually give you a way to answer how you really feel about something. Either they are too coarse or don't allow you to choose "irrelevant" or "not applicable". There is also a theshold beyond which I will abandon a survey, either for the time spent or when they insist on asking those supremely annoying "variation on a previous question" to try and tease out some distinction about how you really think/feel.

• A second one where I didn't request a reward ended up with the funds being misused
• A third delivered the hardware but only minimally functional software after the development team fell apart and the remaining developer did what he could to provide something
• The remaining 15 delivered on their promises, most of them on time.
