We're playing with machines that we don't fully understand, which can move faster than we can, and we're giving them more and more autonomy. AIs don't have to kill ALL humans for us to legitimately begin to worry. A black swan event where a bunch of automated systems all suddenly begin maximizing the wrong expectation value at the same time could cause a massive global catastrophe so fast the damage would be done before anyone even knew it was happening, let alone be able to halt it.

If the AI companies want to guarantee their AI does not get used, they could add text to their EULA that says all data discovered to be connected with political campaigns or super-PACs will be made public and searchable, including contact and payment information. Boom, nobody would touch it.

Literally every job from janitor to CEO is in jeopardy. NEAR TERM jeopardy. Like as in the next two to three decades, at most. The technology to create human-capable robots is no longer a pipe dream, it's now become a pure function of time, training and money, a.k.a. inevitable, and soon. Once the transition begins, short of a Butlerian jihad, it doesn't end. The entire concept of "an economy" is nearing it's conclusion. So everything we can do now to begin softening the blow on society, the more successful we're going to be moving into this new world which nobody seems to be planning for.

AI content is awful. It's only interesting and watchable when you've seen it for the first time. After watching enough of it you begin to notice how it's all the EXACT same thing. And then after a bit more, it starts to feel like nails on a chalkboard. And then after watching a bit more, it feels like nails in your skull.
