Journal btlzu2's Journal: gimme them there damn lyrics that *GETCHA*!!!!!!!!!!!! 24

ok, it's time again. i think i did this 3 years ago or something, though i'm not going to go look for it because i'm getting back to work quickly here. Let me put you in the picture, let me show you what I mean...

WHAT LYRICS DO YOU REALLY IDENTIFY WITH? alternately, if you don't really identify with them, but they move you, do that instead.

They don't have to be good even. Well, to me, a good lyric is one that hits me in the heart. Not always, but my favorite lyrics are usually that. This song has always gotten me all riled up and emotional. For some reason, it seems like I could've written them if I had the ability to do such things.

Post yours below or I'LL KILL YOU! ;)

I fear that I am ordinary, just like everyone.
To lie here and die among the sorrows
Adrift among the days.
For everything I ever said
And everything I've ever done is gone and dead

As all things must surely have to end
And great lovers will one day have to part
I know that I am meant for this world

My life has been extraordinary
Blessed and cursed and won
Time heals but I'm forever broken
By and by the way...

Have you ever heard the words
I'm singing in these songs?
It's for the girl I've loved all along
Can a taste of love be so wrong?

As all things must surely have to end
And great lovers will one day have to part
I know that I am meant for this world

And in my mind as I was floating
Far above the clouds
Some children laughed I'd fall for certain
For thinking that I'd last forever.

But I knew exactly where I was
And I knew the meaning of it all
And I knew the distance to the sun
And I knew the echo that is love
And I knew the secrets in your spires
And I knew the emptiness of youth
And I knew the solitude of heart
And I knew the murmurs of the soul

And the world is drawn into your hands
And the world is etched upon your heart
And the world so hard to understand
Is the world you can't live without!
And I knew the silence of the world.

  • Is this the real life-
    Is this just fantasy-

    No escape from reality-

I'm just a poor boy,i need no sympathy-
    Because I'm easy come,easy go,

    Mama,just killed a man,
Put a gun against his head,
    Pulled my trigger,now he's dead,
    Mama,life had just begun,
But now I've gone and thrown it all away-
    Mama ooo,
Didn't mean to make you cry-

    • Scaramouche, scaramouche will you do the fandango-

Dang, this whole time (including doing this song in Karaoke) I've always thought it was:

Scare a moose? Scare a moose? Will you do the fandango?

If our goals are all the same
We can run alone and free
If we pursue a different aim

Let the love of Truth shine clear

  • I've been through the wasteland and
It's only a mile ago from here, from here, from here
And now it's a memory but
It's only a smile ago from here, from here, from here

Tell me you love me more than once in a while
'Cause I wanna see you smile

And I want to be all that
I can be from here, from here, from here
And if I ever doubt, Lord,
What life's all about from here, from here, from here

Tell me you love me more than once in a while
'Cause I wanna see you smile
  • This strong struck me about 3 days ago, I finally understood the meaning, the pain, the agony that it represents.

I'm coming out of my cage
And I've been doing just fine
    Gotta gotta gotta be down
    Because I want it all
It started out with a kiss
How did it end up like this
It was only a kiss, it was only a kiss
    Now I'm falling asleep
    And she's calling a cab
    While he's having a smoke
    And she's taking a drag
    Now they're going to bed
    And my stomach is sick
And it's all in my head
    But she's touching his--chest
    Now, he takes off

Although I've always liked the song, it didn't really mean anything until I saw them play it live, and I was standing next to my ex.

    Time, it needs time
To win back your love again.
I will be there, I will be there.

    Love, only love
Can bring back your love someday.
I will be there, I will be there.

    Fight, babe, I'll fight
To win back your love again.
I will be there, I will be there.

    Love, only love
Can break down the walls someday.
I will be there, I will be there.

    • Eeeep. Maybe it's because the Scorpions are from Hannover, but I really can't hear them anymore. :-/

One of the more daft things I've seen: Some years ago on German TV, they had a live interview with Gorbachev before a studio audience. But before the interview started, the presenter said, "But first, here's the Scorpions' Klaus Meine to sing Winds of Change for our honored guest!" And sure enough, there he was, with Gorbachev sitting there looking a little befuddled while a German rocker sang some song he

My old man is another child that's grown old

  • Good morning, it's 3am in this great roaring city full of garbage eaters ravaging parking spots beneath my plaza window I see cheetah in their tight skins and tired heels, all-night hippo in the diner crossing the street, swarthy herds of young impala flambastic gibbon, even a struggling monza and over there that brilliant head ornament on that Japanese macaque, but look closely at the hammerhead hand in hand with the mandrill, it's a sight you're unlikely to see anywhere else on the planet

When Did I See You Cry

Someone's child but no one's friend
    A city street alone again
Funny how tears don't wash away
    Even in December rain

    Someone's child you'd never meet

    A painted face with a child's eyes
    A paradox of sad disguise

    When were You all alone
When did I see You so far away from home
