Solide points, the problem withe the "x amount of users only use N% of features" mantra is that wihile correct and also being a rather easy to grasp talikng points is that tose users don't all use the exact sdame subset of features, so it's almost impossible to cut away anything onece the product/spec has released

I think what dskoll meant was, NTSC was less technically advanced than PAL ( logical sonce pal was developed later and specifically to solve some of NTSCs limitations) and as such thete was les need for those adjustments and as usual in a teace to cut costs adjustments thet where not needed where either hidden from the general public or skipped completely.

Not necessarily, people will need help to migrate from aws /O365Google workplaces ( or whatever the call it today), To the new EU solution and people will allso need to sync data between the eu cloud and one of the others for cloud redundancy, because as we have seen relying on nonly one cloud (even multiple availability regions from the same provider) might not be enough (looking at you AWS)

The difficulty is completeng wit US megaclouds from US mega providers, that have become entrenched. I mean Microsoft could probably drop several hundred bn, on dcs all over Europe next year, no singel European competitor has that kind of clout, and we also don't have the SaaS stack to compete with O365 yet (well at least not until a few days ago) Which is partly why the EU kicked off the EuroOffice project, but in a transition period some temporary regulation might be needed to level the playing field. Also barbecue before Trump the incentive wasn't really there to spend the resorces du build soverign infrastructure

ha mercedes are cheap I suspect the daughter in question wants her masters in liberal arts from a top univesity, and ofc not to leave in standard student dorms so that'll probably be why more expensive. OFC she wands that flashy car as well but the car is not the cost driver here. Not to mention those private jet rides to from capmus when she wants to relax at the mansion over the weekend becuse al those classes are so stressfull and the rented penthouse she useess as hur stdent pad does not allow pets... My god I really have a low opinion of rich women that want to study soft subjects. If the masters in question had been something engenerring /STEM related I fear i might not have been quite as harsh, To be fairr if her btother Had chocsen liberal arts with the same Accommodations and transport arangments I would have been equaly harsh. So it ptobably vomes down to rich kids gering what I (probbably incorrectly ) see as worthless degrees and unreasonably cushy lives as a student

A companies purpose is to maximize profits, why would any company offset input prize hikres when they don't have to? Here is the thing Apple has run the numbers and they apparently show (this is guesswork on my part as I don't have access to apples intestinal documents) that they don't need to eat the costs, even partly, or that the slight slump in sales will cost them less than to reduce margins on every device. what is their incentive to lover margins in this scenario?

only if you use 32 bit integers, come one it's 2026 don't be stingy with the bits, allso I would trust absolutely no financial sw the operated with integers (unless ofc they scaled every value by 100 to account for cents) or you'd run into a lot of rounding errors. and no I'm not advocating for floats either they have their own issues, which is why we have specific types of fixed point decimals (that use wya more than 32 bits in these systems)... Oh you where making a joke sorry for taking you seriously

nah it*s all digital today, it all fits on an emmc and those don't weigh much lol. Also iu suspect you overestimaye the weight of paper at least for larger aircraft (think 747 and the like where the paint job alone mey weigh in at several hundred kilos , if not signifivantly more) you can squeeze a lot of text and drawings on 100Kg of paper
