Journal blinder's Journal: Holy Crap 21

Holy crap, could this day go any slower? Seriously, I think its been 2:45 p.m. (EST) for at least 10 minutes now.

Its like this day is just grinding to a halt. Oh yes, I am doing work, and keeping busy, but good grief.

OH wait... the clock just changed to 2:46... okay good sign.

2:49

  • Dunno. This is the longest freaking day since forever.
  • Seriously, get out of my head.

There's enough crap going on in there without you adding a drum line to it.

I think Sean Connery and Alec Guiness just decided to knife fight and I don't need the distraction.

(Just another typical day in the neighborhood)
    • sorry man, i just couldn't let this go by and not have the record reflect how fucking slow this day is. I think the universe needs a reboot or something.

Well, lets see... would Alec Guiness be a force ghost now? If so, I think he wins, hands down. Yeah, Sean Connery is no slouch when it comes to hand-to-hand combat... but Guiness was Obi-Wan Kenobi for crying out loud!

      • No no no, not their characters...they are themselves.

Let me tell you, Alec Guiness is a dirty bastard!

But Connery has the strength of several lesser mortals.

        My, the blood. It's everywhere.

BTW, it's 3:37, and I go home at 4 today. Getting closer....come to butthead.

    • oh shit man... you folks out west are just now beginning to feel this pain.

Yeah, I hear ya, There's only so much reading about how the video game industry is dead, checking out when would be some good games to catch at Camden Yards (June 12... day after my b-day -- is looking like a winner... the O's play SF -- I think I'll pick up some nice club seats... that's always nice).

Man, I just thought of this... and I'm not sure I should actually tap it in... but fuck dood, when I'm driving home, you'll just be

        • See, for me, any ballgame is a good ballgame

Roger that! I just love being there. I guess its that whole childhood, simpler times thing. I honestly don't care what it is, the fact that its fun and enjoyable... even Tracy loves it. We always make a day out of a game day. We'll spend the day bummin around the Inner Harbor and/or Fells Point and then make our way down to Camden (its about 5 or 6 blocks from the Harbor).

Baltimore fans, for the most part, are a pretty tame bunch. I mean, you can walk to the pa
      • I have a hard time justifying spending the money for club level seats at camden unless the only thing left besides them is the left field lower box/left field lower reserved. I think that the outfield bleacher seats are some of the best seats for the money. Its not that the seats are incredible, but you have a good view of most of the field, except very deep right/center and at that price I can afford to go to more games. If I can get Upper Box (not Upper reserved) right behind the plate I like those too
        • I dunno, I just *like* the club seats... and I'm not a really a fan of the O's really, but like what Sam said... it doesn't really matter. I just *love* going to ball games... and I like the nice digs of the club seats. Vanity? yes probably, comfort? Yes completely.

But if you really come to think of it, there really aren't *bad* seats at Camden Yards (not like in the older ballparks... I'm thinking the original Tiger's Stadium where you *could* sit right behind a poll). Many older parks are like that.
  • It's only 3:15.

Damn this day IS going slow, isn't it?
  • this day gets slower the later it gets. it's like the math problem of the ant that covers half the remaining distance to its goal every hour, but can't ever get there.

sometimes i think there is some sort of singularity inside the clock, causing it to slow in relation to everything else. but today it must be all clocks.
  • I've done all the really work there is to do here as of yesterday. I made some up for an hour's worth this morning. Doing the post/installation guy's jobs (somebody's got to!). Now I sit until my flight, scenduled for tuesday, but subject to change, is ready to leave. It's been a long time, sometime before mobilization, that I have been this utterly and absolutely bored out of my freaken' mind. I keep looking at the clock, hoping it will have advanced 8 hours or something.

Unless someone has an accident. So

    • I think I may go check out of my hotel room and find a tent with an empty cot

heh, the way most hotel beds feel... this would be a major upgrade :)

so basically you are in the standard "hurry up and wait" sorta deal right now? I *love* those!
      • Yup. I do get to wander down in a little while and listen to the governator tell us all what heros and men (and women) among men we are, and how the whole state of CA, less feinstien and a few others are behind us 100%. Yeah.
