To be honest in Italy you could be allowed to vote even if you don't have a valid ID with you. In order to do so there must be AT LEAST ONE of the poll workers that, trough direct knowledge, officially declares that you are who you are supposed to be. This is under his/her responsibility. But you can be assured that everybody here bring at least one valid ID and people have no problem showing it if required to do so. If you have no ID and nobody can certify your identity you are not allowed to vote.

Said so I find it very difficult to understand why this is so controversial in USA. I mean, if you are in good faith, where is the problem of having a valid ID with you?

That's why I do consider the "fundamentals" more appealing than polls. Beside, especially in the current climate, many Trump voters may be "shy voters" and therefore invalidating the polls' results. Here in Italy, however, selling blood is not allowed. This is a clever way to avoid broke people that could also have serious health problems (drug addiction is the first that come to my mind). If you donate you do it because you want to help.

I usually donate 1-2 times a year and beside the warm fuzzy feeling (you are helping somebody in need) and the free tests, as an added bonus, I also get a breakfast for free :-)
