I recently tried opencore on a 2016 macbook pro (16gb ram model) to run MacOS v15 (Sequoia) and it was quite slow. It felt more like not optimized (i.e. missing drivers) and yes I did do the post install patching. Put the macbook back on the latest version of MacOS it could run and a lot smoother and responsive.
Right, i havent been successful at getting a customer service chatbot to do anything useful other than give up and give me to a human to get the issue resolved. Sure it can give account balance, bill due date, etc low impact stuff but how many folks call for that stuff.
Anyone else?
Not in this job market. If you havent done the exact job already theyre not interested nor have to be...
Old world used to be exactly as you wrote (and is best), new world is "You havent done everything listed on my JD, eh next candidate"
Anyone know if this will upgrade seamlessly on a computer that doesnt officially support Windows 11 running 24H2 via Rufus installer?
Or will it need to be full install using an upgrade option?
All the AI LLM providers dont have anything that significantly differentiates their service.
With their capital outlays required to spin them up wonder if any will ever be actually profitable given the LLMs will be moved onto individual devices more and more as the CPUs are customized for the tech.
Linkedin has already said they would do this and added the opt out switch months ago....if it does anything.
Youre way overstating things. Its not that much worse than Windows 11.
I have a desktop which has TPM 2.0 but the CPU is a 7th gen I5 so it refuses to run Windows 11. It's still a very capable desktop for basic needs...thankfully Rufus https://rufus.ie/en/ enabled it to run Windows 11.
Not always. I have a laptop whose Wifi refused to work correctly under Linux. Spent a couple hours trying to get it to work correctly too.
This is almost as exciting as when Apple added cut and paste to the UI, after telling us it would be impossible to add when the iPhone was released, they pulled off a miracle only a year later.
No, Apple did not say that copy and paste was impossible to add to the iPhone. In fact, they announced the addition of this feature in 2009, which was highly requested by users. Troll better next time.
Plex was hacked in 2015 too. 10 years isnt too bad a run between security breaches?
Just think, in 20 more years MS will open source Windows 95 and, if lucky NT 3.5!
Of course not effecting, hiring has slowed to a snail pace....
Google Reader was great. I tried a bunch of RSS reader applications but stick with The Old Reader (https://theoldreader.com) which is mostly a copy of Google Reader. I like something simple and web based.
