Lousy CEO. The proper explanation is this is due to AI efficiencies.
Not surprise, everyone is rushing to buy more and more shovels to dig for AI uses with hope that it can generate significant revenue either through layoffs or new product offerings.

Otherwise, this ship has sailed a long time ago.
Guess that Amazon exec he brought in to replace the old space industry CEO made a difference.
Tough gambling shorting. Even the movie showed how close he came to collapse and the movie didnt show the many many many other people who lost everything trying to maintain their short against the housing market. He was just lucky enough to have gotten the timing right...
Just last week he was in the news saying he was shorting the AI market guess this week he came up short of the cash to keep it going.
Except that was NOT what was sold for the reasoning -- we were promised lower prices and didn't get it. Now there is a fragmented storefront with less privacy and security controls for dumb users. Doesn't sound like a win for consumers to me...
Gaslighting against millions of transactions, ok.
But new products WILL be affected.
The large amount of data supplied already disagrees with your promise of future price cuts.
The market will price near or at the level they were sold in the Apple App Store because that was what the market was willing to pay. Anyone selling their apps would be stupid to do otherwise, despite your "I promise it will be cheaper in the future'
Uh huh, right. But great you got the "open marketplace" you wanted enjoy!
Anyone know how to stop/block the mongo DB slide up/pop ad from scrolling up on the page?
Really annoying, slashdot cant just do a normal ad now using moving ads to distract us more.
Given that Copilot uses ChatGPT tech and then has additional features from MS folks should try it rather than immediately discount it.
I try all the LLMs and each has their pro and cons. Copilot actually is quite good and given its price (for now) is free, no reason to not use it if it works for the specific task youre working on.

I recently tried opencore on a 2016 macbook pro (16gb ram model) to run MacOS v15 (Sequoia) and it was quite slow. It felt more like not optimized (i.e. missing drivers) and yes I did do the post install patching. Put the macbook back on the latest version of MacOS it could run and a lot smoother and responsive.
Right, i havent been successful at getting a customer service chatbot to do anything useful other than give up and give me to a human to get the issue resolved. Sure it can give account balance, bill due date, etc low impact stuff but how many folks call for that stuff.
Anyone else?
Not in this job market. If you havent done the exact job already theyre not interested nor have to be...
Old world used to be exactly as you wrote (and is best), new world is "You havent done everything listed on my JD, eh next candidate"
